Askolan uudenvuodenpuheen teesi oli "Valittamisesta välittämiseen".

 Ehkä ei kannata mennä turistiksi King's Collegen kuuluisaan jouluhartauteen A Festival of Nine Lessons.

 Ensimmäistä kertaa se vietettiin tosin vasta 1918.
